The President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, addressed the leaders of neighboring states with a statement.

He noted: "Your Majesties, heads of friendly and neighboring countries, we have made efforts to prevent war through diplomacy; however, aggression from the USA and Israel has forced us to shift to defense. We respect your sovereignty and are confident that the security and stability of our region can only be achieved through joint efforts," it is written on his social media page.

On February 28, Israeli and American forces carried out strikes against Iran. Donald Trump announced plans to destroy the country's nuclear program.

In response to the attack, Iran began striking U.S. military bases in other countries in the Middle East, including Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the strike by U.S.-Israeli forces, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed. His wife, Mansure Khodjasteh, died from injuries sustained in the attack.

Trump also stated that the military operation in Iran would last approximately four weeks. A jihad against the USA and Israel was declared in Iran, emphasizing that negotiations are out of the question.

The conflict in the Middle East has global consequences, including for Kyrgyzstan. Currently, thousands of Kyrgyz citizens are stranded in the UAE. Contact phone numbers for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
