The issues of water resources in Central Asia will be discussed in Tashkent

In the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, the forum "Tashkent Water Week 2026" will take place on March 25 and 26, 2026. This event, organized by the government of the country, will be the first of its kind and will provide a platform for sharing experiences, discussing innovative approaches, and developing joint strategies in water resource management.

According to the organizers, Central Asia is facing serious challenges in water supply. Increasing water demands, driven by climate change and population growth, are putting pressure on agriculture and require effective resource management. In the context of growing water resource scarcity, it is essential to develop sustainable and efficient approaches, which will become a strategic priority for strengthening regional cooperation and the role of Central Asia in the global water cycle.

The forum will focus on issues related to technologies and innovations in water resource management. During high-level plenary and panel sessions, participants will discuss sustainable development, building trust, and finding joint solutions. An important aspect will be transboundary water exchange and intergovernmental coordination, as well as the development of agricultural systems and sustainable water use.

Additionally, forum participants will explore digital and technological innovations in water supply, global trends, and key challenges in water resource management. Discussions are expected to cover the role of water in ensuring food security, the implementation of "green" standards, rational land use, and the training of qualified personnel for the water supply sector.
