The Regional Ecological Summit (RES 2026) will take place from April 22 to 24, 2026, in Astana. This event will gather global and regional leaders to discuss pressing climate and environmental issues in Central Asia, as reported by the Associated Press.

Under the slogan "A Shared Vision for a Sustainable Future," the summit aims to become a permanent platform for strategic dialogue, coordination, and partnership building in the fields of ecology, climate, and sustainable development, organized by the government of Kazakhstan in collaboration with regional and international partners.

Participants expect that RES 2026 will enhance Astana's status as an international center focused on developing practical solutions to the most urgent environmental issues in the region. Key discussion topics will include water scarcity, glacier melting, land degradation, loss of biodiversity, and increasing pressure on limited natural resources.

The summit program includes three days of high-level plenary sessions and more than 20 thematic and country-specific sessions. Participants will discuss the transition to "green" technologies, food security issues, sustainable management of natural resources, and financing mechanisms for environmental initiatives. Special attention will be given to the role of technology, education, and digital solutions in creating a sustainable future.

The organizers emphasize that this summit will not only serve as a platform for exchanging views but will also contribute to the implementation of specific joint projects and investment solutions aimed at enhancing the resilience of energy, water, and food systems in the region.

According to the initiators, RES 2026 is intended to strengthen regional cooperation and develop practical measures that align with global climate goals and sustainable development objectives.
