As a result of heavy rains in southern Pakistan, 17 people have died, and 30 people have been injured

According to local authorities and the 1122 rescue service, most of the victims were reported in various areas of the city after heavy rains exposed weaknesses in the urban infrastructure.

According to rescuers, 11 people died as a result of a wall collapse in the Baldia Town area, while another 6 victims were recorded in other parts of Karachi.

The city's mayor, Murtaza Wahab, reported that heavy rains and gusts of wind continue in Karachi, urging residents to stay home and minimize movement.

Additionally, the mayor noted that special response teams have been deployed throughout the city to address the aftermath of the flooding, as rainwater has flooded numerous streets, disrupting the usual rhythm of life and traffic.

The Sindh Minister of Local Government, Nasir Hussain Shah, announced the introduction of a state of heightened readiness across the entire province, including Karachi.
