On February 26, 2026, the first political consultative meeting organized by the foreign ministries of Mongolia and the Republic of Indonesia took place in Jakarta. Information about this was published on the official Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, issues concerning the bilateral relations between Mongolia and Indonesia, upcoming high-level visits, and events dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations were discussed. The parties confirmed their readiness to further develop cooperation.
The parties agreed to continue working on simplifying the conditions for travel for citizens of both countries and creating opportunities for a visa-free regime. Cooperation in the fields of education, cultural exchanges, tourism, and strengthening ties between peoples, as well as the development of trade and economic relations and the opening of direct flights, was also discussed.
The co-chairs of the meeting were Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Amartüvshin Gombosüren and his Indonesian counterpart Arrmanata Nasir.
