The USA has expanded the list of countries with a $15,000 visa bond

Under the new rules, which will come into effect on April 2, foreign citizens will be required to pay a bond of $15,000 to obtain B1 or B2 visas, intended for business trips and tourism to the USA.

The bond will be refunded to those who meet the conditions of their visa agreement and return home after the visa expires. The list of new countries now required to pay the visa bond includes Cambodia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Grenada, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nicaragua, Papua New Guinea, Seychelles, and Tunisia.

These countries are added to the existing 38 countries for which this measure was introduced earlier. Previous lists included Algeria, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Botswana, Burundi, Cape Verde, the Central African Republic, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Djibouti, Dominica, Fiji, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kyrgyzstan, Malawi, Mauritania, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Senegal, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
