
The resolution, titled "Support for a Lasting Peace in Ukraine," was supported by 107 countries, while 12 countries voted against it, and 51 abstained.
Among the opponents were representatives from Russia, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cuba, North Korea, Eritrea, Iran, Mali, Niger, Nicaragua, and Sudan.
Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan were among the countries that abstained from voting. Turkmenistan did not participate in the vote. Among those who abstained were also the USA, China, India, South Africa, Armenia, Brazil, Qatar, Mongolia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The resolution emphasizes support for the independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The United States proposed to exclude two paragraphs concerning sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the UN Charter, but the proposal was not supported, and the resolution was adopted in its original form.
