Additionally, he emphasized that one of the main tasks remains preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.
“We will never allow Iran to get close to nuclear weapons and must always be prepared for a swift and powerful response in the event of such a threat,” the president added.
Trump also highlighted the need to protect U.S. allies in the Middle East, among which he mentioned Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
In a separate statement regarding the Strait of Hormuz, the president stated that the security of this strategically important route should be ensured by other countries that use it.
“If necessary, we are ready to assist these nations in securing the Strait of Hormuz, but once the threat from Iran is eliminated, such assistance will not be needed,” Trump noted.
