According to information provided by Politico, citing sources, and confirmed by the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal, the proposal was voiced by Russian special representative Kirill Dmitriev during a meeting in Miami with the participation of U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. However, the United States rejected this proposal.

Later, Dmitriev himself denied the information about the proposal, calling it fake. At the same time, the White House did not comment on the situation.

As reported by the Financial Times, the mention of such a proposal raised concerns among European diplomats, who viewed it as an attempt to link the conflict in Ukraine with the situation in the Middle East and to exert pressure on U.S. allies in Europe. One European source described the idea as outrageous.

Against the backdrop of the U.S. and Israel's conflict with Iran, there was also a report about the expansion of Russian assistance to Tehran. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Moscow allegedly provided Iran with satellite images and drone technologies, which the Kremlin denied, calling such claims fake.

Additionally, Axios previously reported that Donald Trump rejected another proposal from Vladimir Putin regarding the transfer of Iranian enriched uranium to Russia.
