
According to data received from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC), there is no tsunami threat associated with this earthquake, as the hypocenter was located at a depth of 237 km. The center also indicated that there is no need for evacuation of the population.
It should be noted that on March 23, another earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 occurred in the same region. The epicenter was located 204 km southwest of Apia on the island of Upolu and 127 km northeast of the island of Tafahi (Kingdom of Tonga).
