The Baluch Rights Movement (BNM) has addressed the UN Human Rights Council, calling for urgent action regarding alleged human rights violations in Balochistan, as reported by Akashvani News. In this context, Pakistan is accused of using anti-terrorism laws to suppress dissent and exert pressure on the civilian population.

At the 61st session of the UN Council in Geneva, BNM representative Mahra Baluch cited examples of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and restrictions on freedom of speech. She emphasized that the residents of the region "are subjected to collective punishment merely for their existence."

According to Mahra Baluch, in 2025, 1,355 abductions and 225 killings were recorded.

BNM urges the international community to pressure the authorities of Pakistan to release the detainees and conduct an independent investigation into the alleged human rights violations.
