As Axios reports, discussions are focused on a two-step plan. The first stage involves a temporary ceasefire lasting 45 days, during which the parties can agree on the terms for a final peace agreement. This period can be extended if necessary.

The second phase involves signing a comprehensive agreement aimed at finally resolving the conflict.

According to sources from Axios, in recent days, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has sent Iran a series of proposals, but Tehran has not yet agreed to any of them.

Nevertheless, the publication's sources believe that the likelihood of reaching an agreement in the next 48 hours is quite low.

Recall that on April 4, Donald Trump stated that Iran has 48 hours to strike a deal with the U.S., or a serious attack will follow. In response, Tehran rejected the ultimatum and gave a sharp reply to the U.S. president.
