According to this agreement, the military forces of both countries will remain in their current positions and will not be moved. Residents of border areas affected by the conflict will be able to return as circumstances allow. In addition to this, Thailand has agreed to return 18 Cambodian soldiers if the peace agreement holds for 72 hours.
The conflict between Cambodia and Thailand has lasted for over a hundred years and periodically escalates into armed clashes. The current hostilities began three weeks ago and have already become the second escalation this year.
