According to Trump, the threat of raising tariffs has already been used by him as a means of pressure to prevent further escalation of the conflict. He noted: “Just 10 minutes ago, I applied tariffs to stop a new escalation between Thailand and Cambodia. I said: if you continue to fight, I will not only abandon our trade deal but also impose tariffs on your countries.” This statement was made in light of his phone conversation with the leaders of both countries.

The U.S. President also emphasized that tariff policy plays an important role in his foreign economic strategy and expressed concerns that the Supreme Court's decision to recognize part of his tariffs as illegal would be "terrible" for him.

Earlier, reports emerged about the resumption of military clashes on the border between Thailand and Cambodia.
