Dangerous proximity in the sky over Kazakhstan. Uzbekistan Airways commented on the incident

Two passenger planes, a Boeing 737 and an Airbus A320, came dangerously close to each other.

On January 10, in the airspace controlled by Shymkent air traffic controllers, a threatening proximity incident occurred involving two aircraft: a Boeing 737 belonging to the airline "Pobeda" and an Airbus A320 operated by Uzbekistan Airways.

The aircraft were flying at altitudes of FL370 and FL360, with the distance between them being critically small. The TCAS collision avoidance systems activated on both planes.
Thanks to the quick response and coordinated actions of the crews, a possible disaster was averted.

The incident has been classified as serious and is subject to detailed investigation. A special commission has been established to study the situation.

Later, Uzbekistan Airways commented on this event regarding the proximity of the aircraft in the airspace of Kazakhstan.

Company representatives stated: "We are aware of media reports regarding a possible aviation incident. According to international standards and ICAO requirements, the investigation of such cases that occur in the airspace of another state is conducted by the authorized body of that state. In this situation, it is the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan."

Furthermore, the airline emphasized that all Uzbekistan Airways flights are carried out strictly in accordance with safety regulations, and the crews follow approved procedures. They also urged to seek official comments on this incident from the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
