Among those detained are foreigners
According to information provided by the press service of the State Committee for National Security (GKNB), illegal missionary activities were suppressed in Manas.
The detainees are followers of the 'Furkan' movement, which criticizes secular politics and actively advocates for the implementation of Sharia law.
As a result of the operations carried out, 20 people were detained, including 6 foreign citizens. It has been established that the followers of 'Furkan' chose the Jalal-Abad region as an experimental site for organizing religious events aimed at spreading their ideology and creating cells in the southern regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Administrative fines have been imposed on the participants and organizers of the illegal missionary activities, and measures are being taken to ensure compliance with the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations" and other regulatory acts.
