In Manas, illegal missionary activity (daawat) organized by followers of the foreign religious movement "Furkan" was stopped. This movement opposes the policies of secular states and actively defends Sharia law, reports the press service of the State National Security Committee (GKNB).

As a result of the operations conducted, 20 people were detained, including 6 foreigners.

The investigation suggests that the followers of "Furkan" chose the Jalal-Abad region as an experimental site for spreading their ideology and creating cells in the southern regions of Kyrgyzstan.

The measures taken by law enforcement agencies have prevented the establishment of one of the possible cells of undesirable religious organizations on the territory of the country.

Administrative fines have been imposed on the organizers and participants of the illegal missionary activities. Work is underway to ensure compliance with the requirements of the law "On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations" and other regulations of Kyrgyzstan.

The GKNB warns citizens about the possible criminal liability for engaging in illegal missionary activities.
