Villagers recounted the sad circumstances of the incident. The deceased children were close relatives: one of them, NurIslam, the eldest in the family, was the son of a brother, the second was the son of a sister, and the third was the child of a sister-in-law. Interestingly, on February 2, the day of the tragedy, NurIslam turned four years old.
At the time of the incident, his father was in Sokuluk with his younger son, buying a gift for NurIslam's birthday.
According to local residents, the children left their grandfather's house and headed to relatives living nearby. Along the way, they likely noticed the icy crust on the surface and decided to play. Water from the irrigation canal flows into the pond through a pipe, which witnesses estimate to be about one and a half meters deep. Notably, the banks of the water body are not fenced.
Local residents emphasize that this pond is located on the outskirts of the village and has no protective barriers.
