On February 6, in Bishkek, in the area of the mosques, during the Friday prayer, police officers organized a preventive operation called "Beggar," as reported by the press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Pervomaisky District.

The press secretary of the Internal Affairs Directorate, Almas Bekboeva, stated that during the raid on Abay Street, a 77-year-old woman was found in a wheelchair asking for alms. Next to her was a QR code with banking details. The officers tried to determine whether she was there voluntarily and to whom the specified details belonged. The woman replied that she could not hear well and then added that she needed the money for an operation.

The police checked the QR code and found that it belonged to the pensioner's daughter. They then contacted her by phone and invited her to the scene. When asked why she sent her mother to beg in such cold weather, the daughter replied that this was their first experience.

Ultimately, both women were taken to the police station, where they explained that they needed the money for basic needs.

A protocol was drawn up against the pensioner's daughter under Article 190 ("Violation of traffic rules by a pedestrian, cyclist, person driving horse-drawn transport, or animal herder") of the Code of Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic. Similar protocols were also drawn up in other cases.

"The police officers explained to the citizens the consequences of begging and the requirements of the legislation," added Bekboeva.
