During the operational and preventive event "Arsenal" in the Issyk-Kul region, law enforcement agencies seized dozens of firearms and recorded several violations. This was reported by the regional police department.
According to the police, in January 2026, 28 facilities with permits and 1,547 hunters were checked. As a result of the inspections, 54 administrative protocols were drawn up, and the total amount of fines imposed reached 147,000 soms.
As part of the law enforcement activities, 25 firearms were seized for violations of regulations, as well as 16 units during criminal investigations. In addition, 31 firearms were voluntarily surrendered by citizens.
During the operation, eight crimes were also solved, and two cases of environmental violations were identified.
In order to enhance public safety, joint activities with relevant services were conducted to cull dangerous wild animals, resulting in the elimination of 18 wolves and 23 stray dogs.
The police noted that meetings are held with local residents in rural areas, where issues of safety, compliance with legislation, and environmental protection are discussed.
