As reported by the internal affairs department, this decision was a result of the spread of videos on the internet depicting cases of threats and violence involving firearms.

Additionally, the weapons of three other owners of registered traumatic pistols were temporarily confiscated. This occurred due to violations of storage rules and re-registration. The confiscated pistols were transferred for safekeeping to the local internal affairs department.
The police noted that they continue to conduct educational work with the population to prevent crimes and accidents related to firearms. Citizens who voluntarily surrender illegally stored weapons are not subject to criminal liability.
