In the Nookat district, two citizens voluntarily surrendered firearms to the police, reported the press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Osh region.
According to their information, employees of the Nookat ROVD conducted an operational-preventive event called "Arsenal" aimed at preventing incidents related to firearms, identifying illegally stored weapons, and explaining to citizens the inadmissibility of carrying weapons during family conflicts.
During the event, the staff held discussions with registered weapon owners, reminding them of the necessity to comply with the rules for the use, storage, and carrying of firearms. They also conducted explanatory work on the voluntary surrender of illegally stored weapons to law enforcement agencies.
As a result of the event, two citizens voluntarily surrendered firearms along with ammunition to the officers.
Among them was one rifled firearm (TOZ-8). Additionally, two firearms were temporarily seized due to the death of their owner and transferred for storage to the ROVD until a final decision is made. Also, for violating the rules of storage and re-registration of weapons, protocols were drawn up against three citizens based on the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic, and they were fined 9,000 soms.
