The operation took place in Remscheid in North Rhine-Westphalia after more than a year of surveillance of the suspects. During the raid, a large number of ammunition was seized, including assault rifles, rocket grenades, mortar shells, and submachine guns.
According to senior prosecutor Wolf-Tilman Baumert, most of the found arsenal dates back to World War II, making this seizure one of the most significant in the region. However, among the seized items, there is also modern "extremely dangerous" weaponry.
The investigation was able to monitor this group for over a year. Key evidence was obtained thanks to two undercover agents who managed to infiltrate the network and purchase firearms from the suspects. As part of the case, three men aged 34, 37, and 59 have been arrested.
