A group of five foreigners was detained in Almaty
According to the press service of the National Security Committee (NSC), a terrorist attack planned by five citizens of other countries was prevented in Almaty.
“In September 2025, the NSC managed to stop the planned terrorist attack, all suspects have been arrested, and an investigation is currently underway,” representatives of the agency reported.
Additionally, the NSC noted that in September and October of this year, eight citizens of Kazakhstan were arrested on suspicion of spreading terrorist ideas as part of criminal cases.
“During the same period, based on NSC materials, six people were convicted of committing terrorist and extremist crimes. Since the beginning of the year, 89 people have been held criminally liable, among whom six are foreigners,” the committee added.
