Chase with gunfire near Bishkek: three drunk men in a 'Zhiguli' rammed patrol cars

In the Sokuluk district, the police opened fire to detain offenders who were under the influence of drugs.

Recently, on the Bishkek — Manas highway, a night full of alarms occurred when three young men were detained after a chase that ended in gunfire. The driver of a VAZ-2106, being in a state of double intoxication — both alcohol and drugs, ignored police instructions and attempted to flee, causing several traffic accidents, as reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Chui region.

It all started when this driver grossly violated several traffic rules, creating dangerous situations for other road users. After receiving a report of the violation, patrol officers arrived at the scene and began pursuing the vehicle.

During the chase, the offender crashed into two patrol cars — a Renault Logan and a Chevrolet Cobalt. After stopping, the driver and his two passengers attempted to escape. In response to the escape attempt, the police officers fired warning shots into the air. During the arrest, the 22-year-old driver resisted strongly, tearing the uniform of one of the inspectors. One of the passengers was detained on the spot, while the second was caught an hour later.

Results of a narcological examination showed that both the driver and the two passengers were under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The suspects have been detained: K.J., born in 2002, M.A., born in 1999, and A.A., born in 2001. All of them have been placed in a temporary detention facility, and the investigation is ongoing.
