Stuck on Peak Pobeda. The Russian Mountaineering Federation estimated the search costs at $2 million
According to information provided by Alexander Pyatnitsin, Vice President of the Russian Mountaineering Federation, the operation to search for Natalia Nagovitsina, who went missing in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, cost more than 2 million dollars.

It is worth noting that Natalia Nagovitsina sustained a leg injury after successfully ascending Peak Pobeda, which stands at about 7,200 meters above sea level. Attempts by other climbers to help her were unsuccessful due to adverse weather conditions. Unfortunately, one of the rescuers, Italian Luca Sinigaglia, died from hypothermia on August 15.

Earlier, the Russian Mountaineering Federation stated that it does not intend to resume the search operation. "The cost of the operation ranges from 2 to 3 million dollars. Perhaps, if a relative or someone else willing to take the risk appears, then we can talk about resuming. However, the likelihood of a successful completion of the operation is very low," noted Pyatnitsin.

He also added that conditions at such heights resemble those in space.

Recall that on August 12, 2025, Natalia Nagovitsina became trapped on Peak Pobeda, breaking her leg during the ascent. Rescue teams hoped for a successful rescue, but on August 23, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan announced the completion of the search operation due to poor weather conditions. Despite this, some climbers continued attempts to reach her but again faced adverse weather conditions. On September 2, the president of the Kyrgyzstan Mountaineering and Sport Climbing Federation, Eduard Kubatov, confirmed the cessation of all rescue activities.

Peak Pobeda, which has an elevation of 7,439 meters, is considered one of the most difficult for climbers. Throughout its history, more than 80 climbers have died on this route.
