In the capital Bishkek, the Department of Fuel and Energy Complex of the mayor's office reports plans to stockpile 240.2 thousand tons of coal for the heating season of 2025–2026.
Coal procurement work started in July 2025 and will continue until the end of the year.
As of November 11, 2025, the volume of coal procured amounted to 159.43 thousand tons, which corresponds to 66.3% of the planned amount.
The current coal reserves are distributed as follows:
- at fuel bases – 3,741 tons;
- at stationary sales points – 195 tons;
- at the warehouses of OJSC "Kyrgyzkomur" – 350 tons.
During the inspections, it was found that coal prices range from 5,800 to 8,000 soms per ton, depending on the grade and place of extraction.
Meetings were also organized with residents and coal sellers to explain the current situation in the market.
Currently, there are 10 fuel bases and several stationary coal sales points operating in Bishkek.
