On December 2 and 3, inspectors checked 83 baths and saunas. During the inspection, it was found that 49 of them use solid fuels such as coal and firewood, while eight establishments have switched to more environmentally friendly gas and electric heating systems. The remaining facilities temporarily suspended their operations.
As a result of one of the raids, a protocol was drawn up against the owner of a private bath in accordance with part 1 of Article 434 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Kyrgyz Republic, and efforts were made to inform the owners.
The municipal inspection reminds of the importance of adhering to environmental standards and urges:
- to refrain from using waste oils, garbage, and other toxic substances for heating;
- not to burn leaves, grass, and household waste;
- to switch to cleaner types of fuel whenever possible, including gas heating.
