According to a report by BBC News, the authorities of the United States of America intend to implement social media checks for tourists arriving from allied countries.

This requirement will apply to citizens of those countries that have the opportunity to visit the USA by filling out a simple online ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) application form and receiving approval.

Among the 42 countries that fall under this condition are almost all European states, including the United Kingdom, as well as countries such as Australia, Brunei, Chile, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.

The draft document states that when filling out the ESTA application, foreigners will be required to "provide their social media accounts for the last five years," without further clarification.
