Experts of the Kyrgyz Republic appealed to the authorities to restore justice

In recent days, social networks have been actively discussing an incident involving the coordinator of the "Immortal Regiment" action from Kyrgyzstan in Russia. Many claim that he has no relation to this important project, which has caused a wide public outcry and attracted the attention of Russian and Kazakhstani media.

In order to restore justice, the "Center for Expert Initiatives 'Oiy Ordo'" sent a request to the government of Kyrgyzstan proposing to award Zulfiya Khaibullina — the only coordinator of the "Immortal Regiment" in Kyrgyzstan.

As noted by VB.KG, the head of the CEI "Oiy Ordo," political scientist Igor Shestakov, the situation regarding the award is due to the fact that the action has a popular character. Every year, more than 50,000 people gather in Bishkek to march with portraits of their relatives who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War or veterans along the central streets of the capital.

Shestakov emphasized: "Comparing the number of participants with the recent parliamentary elections, it can be seen that many more citizens attend the 'Immortal Regiment of Kyrgyzstan' than go to the polling stations. We do not even take into account those who watch the procession from their apartment windows. Therefore, it is logical that the reaction to the 'wrong' curators of the project was so negative. Someone may be misleading the administration of the President of the Russian Federation by nominating a false coordinator from Kyrgyzstan, which undermines trust in the award itself and calls into question the action. Thus, our experts are appealing to President Sadyr Japarov and Deputy Prime Minister Kamchybek Tashiev to recognize Zulfiya Khaibullina with a state award. She has been the true coordinator of the 'Immortal Regiment' for many years, not only in Bishkek but also in other regions of the country," he added.

Igor Shestakov noted that Zulfiya Khaibullina is known to tens of thousands of people precisely because of this action. Therefore, it is quite natural that social media users are outraged that the award was given to a completely different person who has no relation to the action in Kyrgyzstan.

"We are confident that justice must be restored. Khaibullina, more than anyone else, deserves recognition for her efforts in preserving historical memory, especially in the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory," concluded Igor Shestakov.

The editorial team of VB.KG fully supports the appeal of the CEI "Oiy Ordo."
