The village of Krasnaya Rechka, located in the Issyk-Ata district of the Chui region, was founded in 1907 during the Stolypin agrarian reform and resettlement policy. It was in this year that the first three families arrived here.

As explained to Turmush correspondent Nurmanbet Nurai Kankoeva, the acting head of Library No. 3, the heads of these families were Yeremenko, Saulin, and Tarabasov. In 1907, the construction of kepes (traditional houses) began in Krasnaya Rechka, which were thatched with straw and reeds, and were lit by oil lamps. Over time, the number of such houses increased to 60. The photo shows a house belonging to the Voropayev family.

Since 1929, the collective farm "Krasnaya Rechka" began its operations in the village, which significantly contributed to its development and the organization of the economic activities of local residents. Starting from 1938, many social facilities were built in Krasnaya Rechka, including a club, a FAP (feldsher-obstetric station), a pharmacy, a school, a kindergarten, a factory, and a bus depot.

The name of the village is associated with the river, the waters of which have a reddish hue. In the spring and summer periods, the river often overflows, flooding fields and lowlands, which makes the soil marshy and leads to the spread of malaria among the residents.

As of 2025, the population of Krasnaya Rechka is 14,450 people, and the number of households reaches 2,893. Currently, the village has enterprises such as a tomato factory, a honey production plant, a sewing workshop, and a restaurant.

The Voropayev house, built in 1907, is one of the first buildings in the village, alongside others, of which there were about 60 at that time.
