A conference was held in Bishkek to mark the 90th anniversary of the people's poet of Kyrgyzstan, Ernist Tursunov.

On December 18, a conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the people's poet of Kyrgyzstan, Ernis Tursunov, took place in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture.

High-ranking guests attended the event, including the First Deputy Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy, Suzbek Nadyrbekov, the Rector of the Kyrgyz National University, Dogdurbek Chontoev, as well as representatives of the public, cultural figures, writers, teachers, and students.

Nadyrbekov emphasized that Tursunov's works, especially his plays, are actively staged in theaters across Kyrgyzstan. The poet is also known for his translations of world classics into the Kyrgyz language, including works by Pushkin, Shakespeare, Dante, and Goethe.

Ernis Tursunov was awarded the high titles of "People's Poet of Kyrgyzstan" and "Honored Figure of Culture of Kyrgyzstan" for his significant contribution to the development of national literature, theater, and culture.
