This statement raises significant questions among environmental activists, who doubt whether the president's administration actually issued the order for the dismantling, as claimed by the city hall. They are also interested in whether the president himself was informed about the situation. If the information is confirmed, the public expects the administration to identify those responsible for the demolition and initiate the restoration of this object of national significance.
Additionally, the city hall noted that the panel is registered in the State Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments as an art object of republican level. According to the legislation, the demolition, relocation, or alteration of such objects is only possible with the permission of the Ministry of Culture.
As previously reported, the Ministry of Culture did not issue permits for the dismantling of the mosaic. On the contrary, after its disappearance, the ministry sent an official request to law enforcement agencies. No results from the investigation have been received so far.
The public outcry regarding this issue continues to grow, and the fate of this unique piece of monumental art remains in question.
