105 new buses have arrived in Bishkek, increasing the total number of transport units to 1,628. This was reported by Talant Kaparov, the director of the municipal enterprise responsible for public transport, in an interview on the Birinchi radio station.
He also added that the new buses will start operating on city routes in 2026.
“Every day, about 1,200 buses are on the line, serving the city's residents. In 2026, compact 7-meter buses will be purchased for the narrow streets of the new residential areas that have joined the Alamedin district, as large 12-meter models will not be able to pass through there,” emphasized Kaparov.
The city administration hopes that the renewal of the bus fleet will improve the quality of transport services and enhance the accessibility of routes for residents of the new residential complexes.
