In an interview on "Birinchi Radio," the director of the municipal enterprise "Bishkek City Transport," Talantbek Kaparov, announced that by 2026, the entire public transport system of the capital will transition to a cashless payment system for fares.

Currently, 80% of all payments are made cashless, while cash payments account for only 20%. Next year, it is planned to completely eliminate cash transactions.

Starting in 2026, an electronic dispatch system will also be implemented, which will allow for monitoring of movement intervals, bus departures, and driver conditions.

Kaparov added that as part of the fleet renewal, the purchase of 300 new buses for the districts annexed under the ADB is planned. These buses are expected to be put into service in the second quarter of 2026.

At present, the enterprise has 1,523 buses, of which more than 1,200 operate daily on 73 routes.

Plans also include the launch of express buses with a separate fare and the creation of a municipal taxi service operating on the basis of electric vehicles, replacing private carriers.
