In Kyrgyzstan, work has begun at the new state coal deposits "Suluktu-11" in the Batken region and "Markay" in the Jalal-Abad region.

As reported by "Kyrgyzkomur," in the first year of operation of the deposits, preparatory and mining-technical work will be carried out. Coal extraction has not yet started, as it is necessary to prepare the mines, equipment, and infrastructure, as well as train the staff. Coal supplies for the autumn-winter period of 2025-2026 are not planned.

After the start of extraction, coal will be sold to the population through special points. For "Suluktu-11," this will be the city of Suluktu and the Leilek district, while for "Markay," it will be the city of Manas, as well as the Suzak, Ozgon, and other districts.

The area of the "Suluktu-11" deposit is 863.1 hectares, and the coal reserves here are estimated at 82.7 million tons. The "Markay" deposit covers 292 hectares and has reserves of 8.2 million tons.

The price of a ton of coal will be set by the Antimonopoly Agency based on economic calculations.
