The police are conducting checks as part of the "Illegal" operation
According to reports from the press service of the Bishkek City Police Department, activities are underway in the city to ensure compliance with migration legislation as part of the "Illegal" operation. Employees of the Migration Service are conducting explanatory talks and checks among foreign citizens.
The department reminds that foreigners must always carry original documents that verify their identity and confirm their legal stay in Kyrgyzstan. Such documents include a passport or an equivalent identity document, a valid visa for work or study (under visa regulations), as well as documents confirming registration with the migration authorities.
The absence of these documents may lead to the detention of foreign citizens by law enforcement agencies to establish their identity and clarify the details of their stay.
During the raids, more than 35 foreign citizens were taken to the Bishkek City Police Department for verification and further actions in accordance with the law.
The press service also emphasizes that employers and educational institutions inviting foreign citizens are not allowed to retain or keep their passports and other personal documents.
