On January 7, the opening of four reconstructed streets took place in the city of Osh.

According to the city administration, the streets of Karymov, Teshybaev, Amatbekov, and Tutashov are now open for traffic in the Toloykon microdistrict. Previously, these roads caused significant difficulties for both local residents and motorists due to the intense flow of traffic.

City officials and deputies of the kenesh were present at the event.

Mayor Jengishbek Toktorbaev personally examined the situation on-site earlier and gave instructions to resolve the issue. Today, he officially announced the opening of the new road sections and permitted traffic.

The length of the updated streets is 1200 meters. There are two-way sidewalks for pedestrians with a total length of 2400 meters.
The width of the road has been increased by 10-12 meters compared to the previous version, and an irrigation ditch has also been constructed.

During the opening of one of the streets, deputy of the Osh city kenesh Ilkhomzhan Karimov presented the mayor with a sword as a gift.

Initially, Toktorbaev stated that he does not accept gifts. However, after a request from one of the elders, he agreed. Deputy Karimov added that the sword has an engraving that reads "To the beloved mayor," as well as a stand for it.

Someone in attendance remarked, "This is not a bribe, but a gift." A local aksakal added, "Now we need a horse to wield the sword."

To this, Toktorbaev replied, "There is a horse."

Deputy Karimov continued, "This is real metal; it cannot be sharpened. It will be very sharp…".
