The BELES project, aimed at launching bus production in Kyrgyzstan, has been temporarily halted. This was reported by Urmat Dyusheev, one of the founders of the company OsOO "Beles.kg," in an interview with 24.kg.

Dyusheev noted that recently there have been many misunderstandings and emotional interpretations regarding the commitments that were allegedly made by the president and the state within the framework of the BELES project.

“As a co-owner, holding 50% of the shares, I consider it important to clarify the situation,” he emphasized.

“At the initial stage, we planned to organize the assembly and production of buses in the country. However, during the process, the relevant authorities pointed out a number of significant shortcomings, including non-compliance with international standards, technical requirements, the need for deep modernization, and the lack of a complete production and service cycle, which includes not only assembly but also subsequent maintenance, guarantees, and infrastructure,” added Urmat Dyusheev.

According to him, a thorough analysis showed that addressing the identified issues would require significant additional investments that far exceed the initial estimates. The investments made in the first phase have already been utilized, and under current conditions, further development of the project has become financially impossible. This is why the project has been temporarily suspended,” he noted.

Furthermore, Dyusheev clarified that neither the president nor the state authorities have taken on any legal or financial obligations regarding the purchase of BELES buses.

“Claims about unmet promises from the state are not true. Even if a state order were placed at this moment, the company would not be able to ensure the production and maintenance of buses in accordance with the current technical and service requirements,” he added.

“We made this decision consciously to avoid misunderstandings from the state and society. At this point, the founders are considering options for refining the project and modernizing it to meet the necessary standards, after which further decisions will be made,” Dyusheev summarized.

It is important to note that the BELES project is not closed but is in a stage of rethinking and analysis. It is extremely important for us to discuss this openly and professionally, without politicization and distortion of facts,” he concluded.

We remind you that four years ago, the first sample of the BELES passenger bus was produced in Kyrgyzstan. However, it has not been possible to establish its further production.
