At the meeting of the Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection on January 12, Deputy Saltanat Amanova proposed to organize Bekkari pits in various regions. According to her, there is only one Bekkari pit in the city of Osh, built in the 1970s, which is already filled, forcing local residents to dispose of animal carcasses in random places.

Amanova noted that within the framework of the project presented by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, such pits could be created throughout the country.

In response, Deputy Minister Zhanibek Kerimaliev stated that this issue is being addressed within the framework of another project. He added that when the pits are filled, they are subject to isolation.

“We aim to spread this practice throughout the republic,” he said. Kerimaliev also reported on plans to introduce mobile crematoriums that could reach pastures.
