In Kyrgyzstan, work is nearing completion on the elimination of anthrax outbreaks. This was reported by the director of the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Service, Adilet Sotovaldiyev, at a meeting of the parliamentary committee that deals with agricultural policy, water resources, subsoil use, ecology, and environmental protection.

According to Sotovaldiyev, an inventory was conducted this year, resulting in the identification of 567 registered anthrax outbreaks in the country.

The official noted that local authorities have already completely eliminated 560 of them, which accounts for almost 95 percent of the total number. Thus, the work to eliminate the threat is coming to an end.
