Citizens are switching to the MAX messenger
Sergey Boyarsky, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technology and Communications, told Vesti.ru that the process of replacing the WhatsApp messenger* is successfully coming to an end.
According to him, this has become possible due to the rapid development of the MAX platform.
“I receive numerous requests for comments on the future of WhatsApp in Russia. <..> The import substitution of WhatsApp is nearing completion,” Boyarsky wrote in the MAX messenger.
He also noted that WhatsApp had enough time to establish communication with Russian regulators, but in his opinion, no attempts were made to do so.
Earlier, Anton Nemkin, a member of the same State Duma committee, expressed the opinion that the blocking of WhatsApp in Russia is just a matter of time.
