Fake Deputy Chairman of the Bishkek City Council Detained

On November 27, the press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs (GUVD) of Bishkek reported the detention of a suspect in fraudulent activities.

A resident of the capital approached law enforcement, stating that on November 14, he received a call via WhatsApp from a man who introduced himself as the deputy chairman of the Bishkek City Council. As a result of the fraudulent actions, he lost about 300,000 soms.

This incident was registered in accordance with Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to fraud.

Officers of the criminal investigation department of the capital's GUVD detained the suspect, identified as Sh.D., born in 2005. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility.

As part of the investigation, work continues to identify other individuals involved in this crime.
