Recently, a ceremonial opening of a cinema took place in Tokmok, which underwent reconstruction as part of a large project aimed at reviving cultural life in the regions. The implementation of this initiative is carried out by the LLC "Atlant Cinema" with the financial support of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) on behalf of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers.

As part of this project, $1 million 550 thousand was allocated for the reconstruction of six cinemas in small and medium-sized cities of Kyrgyzstan, including Batken, Cholpon-Ata, Kerben, Aravan, and the village of Belovodsk.

The cinema, which was built back in 1973, had not been operational for a long time. During the modernization, a major renovation of the 400-seat hall was carried out, the latest digital equipment was installed, and the furniture was updated. The return of the cinema to life has become a significant event for local residents.

This initiative also aims to create more than 200 new jobs across the network, as well as to provide residents of remote areas with access to modern cinema, including locally produced films.
