In Batken, a group of graduates who celebrated 20 years since their graduation gathered funds to install an arch.

The graduates, who once studied at the school in the village of Sogment, located in the Altyn-Beshik rural district of the Batken region, decided to install an arch at the entrance to their native village.

Over 600,000 soms were allocated for the implementation of this project.

Azmat Ergeshov, one of the graduates, shared that each of them contributed 20,000 soms. “We, the graduates of 2006, decided to invest in the development of our village in advance. Many of us will leave for various reasons by spring — for work or to other places. Therefore, we didn’t want to wait until May 25 and started to implement our plans earlier. In the future, we plan to improve the area around the arch. Currently, the initiative has been taken on solely by men, without the participation of women,” he said.
