According to information from local authorities, the apartments will be provided to former residents of orphanages free of charge for a period of 10 years. Each apartment will have an area of 25 square meters and will be fully ready for living.
As noted by the mayor of Osh, Jenishbek Toktorbaev, it was initially planned to use this residential building for citizens without permanent housing. However, after the renovation of the old building of the neurological dispensary on Atabaeva Street, needy residents were able to move there. "From 2006 to 2025, 20 children graduated from family orphanages in the city of Osh. Of these, 15 live in Osh, one in Bishkek, and four in Russia. 15 graduates do not have permanent housing, so a decision was made to build a new house. For children who grew up in orphanages, the state becomes both a mother and a father," the mayor reported.
The project of the new building includes 26 one-bedroom and 28 two-bedroom apartments. Two two-bedroom apartments will be allocated to graduates who already have families, while the others will be provided with one-bedroom housing. The mayor also added that if graduates start their own families, the city administration will assist in organizing wedding ceremonies.
Funding for the construction is being provided from the local budget. The construction is expected to be completed and the building put into operation by March 25.
In 2025, 15 residents of the orphanages "Lotus" and "Altyn Uya" will graduate. In the following year, 2026, another 9 children will graduate, of which 5 are from "Lotus" and 4 from "Altyn Uya".
Municipality representatives visited the construction site to familiarize themselves with the current work.
