The Ministry of Culture is preparing a draft law concerning the regulation of bloggers' activities, as confirmed by representatives of the department's press service, reports Kaktus.media.

Recently, a letter signed by Deputy Minister Marat Tagaev appeared on social media in response to a request from one of the delegates of the People's Kurultai. The delegate suggested considering the possibility of introducing liability for bloggers who spread content that may negatively affect teenagers. In Tagaev's response, it is stated that the ministry is currently working on a draft law that stipulates that bloggers with more than 10,000 subscribers will have to pay taxes on advertising income.

The Ministry of Culture noted that this draft law covers all aspects of bloggers' activities, not just advertising.

“Taxes on advertising are just one component of the draft law. It has not yet been decided whether bloggers with 10, 20, or 30 thousand subscribers will be affected; this issue will also be discussed with the State Tax Service. Overall, the document will address all aspects of bloggers' activities. At the moment, it is in the development stage, and as soon as it is ready, we will present it for public discussion,” the ministry reported.

It is expected that the draft law will be presented in April or May.

We remind you that it became known last spring that the Ministry of Culture had begun work on the draft law concerning bloggers; more details can be found here.
