Active residents of the capital of Kyrgyzstan are calling on social media to support a petition against the proposed construction in the Enver Gareev Botanical Garden. Civic activists express their protest against the idea of building football fields in this important area for the city.
In their opinion, the destruction of the Botanical Garden threatens the unique ecosystem and natural heritage that has developed over many years.
The activists emphasize the need to find other locations for construction projects.
“The Botanical Garden is not just a green zone. It is a place where one can enjoy clean air and silence, the result of many years of work by scientists and ecologists. Replacing trees with football fields is unacceptable, as they purify the air and support biodiversity. The city is not just concrete buildings, but a complete ecosystem! The destruction of the Botanical Garden will be an irreparable loss for future generations. We demand to preserve the garden in its current boundaries and find alternative sites for the football fields,” they emphasize.
