He noted that there are only two botanical gardens in Kyrgyzstan — one in Bishkek, between Gorky and Akhunbaev streets, and the other in Naryn. Bekeshev stressed how important these places are for the preservation of nature.
“The botanical garden is very necessary for the city, and its importance is noted in the law on specially protected natural areas. The garden was created for scientific research. However, what is happening with the Botanical Garden? On May 11, 2022, we adopted a resolution on measures for its development. The law clearly states that the garden is intended to support biodiversity,” the deputy added.
In addition, he urged the president to pay attention to the current situation.
Previously, the administration of the Botanical Garden reported that the presidential administration had begun construction of two football fields near the central entrance, along 7 April Street. According to information, the selected area is characterized by rocky soil and a lack of water, which hinders the growth of greenery.
It should be noted that in January 2025, the research institute "Enver Gareev Botanical Garden" was granted the status of a specially protected natural area, which was approved by the chairman of the cabinet of ministers, Adylbek Kasymaliev.
