The deputy proposed that the Ministry of Economy require government institutions and municipal services to use mobile phones and messengers
At a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh dedicated to constitutional legislation and state structure, deputy Dastan Bekeshev expressed concern about the low quality of government and municipal services, which he believes is related to the lack of adequate communication with the population.
In a conversation with Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Choro Seyitov, Bekeshev emphasized that citizens constantly complain about difficulties in reaching institutions that provide services such as elevator services, electric networks, and water supply companies.
The deputy noted that many government agencies continue to use landline phones from Kyrgyztelecom, where the cost of a call is about 5 soms per minute. At the same time, subscribers are forced to wait a long time to connect with operators.
"The answering machine always says: please hold for a minute, but this 'minute' stretches to 20 minutes. As a result, a person can spend up to 100 soms just to get through," Bekeshev stated.
He also added that the Ministry of Economy and Commerce is responsible for the quality of services provided and must take appropriate measures. The deputy called for all government and municipal bodies to start using mobile phones and modern communication platforms such as WhatsApp and Telegram.
Furthermore, Bekeshev pointed out that Kyrgyztelecom refused to provide free calls, citing financial difficulties. In this regard, he noted that the financial burden should not be shifted onto citizens.
"Citizens should not have to pay 100 soms just for the opportunity to reach a government agency's call center," the deputy emphasized.
